The last level of the main route, layered like Level 0.2 stacked on Level 0.3 and crossed by an elevator you drive with a lever. Finishing it plays out the Wrong Door, the first of the game's five endings.
How to escape Level 55.1
Photograph the objects you're sent after across the layers (graffiti, an opening into Level 0, a van, the Bacteria, and more), riding the elevator up, down and stop to reach each one while you dodge what's roaming. Finish the run and the Wrong Door plays out: you fall from the sky onto a road, get hit by a car, and wake in The Bunker holding the ID Card that opens the M.E.G. doors guarding the other endings.
Clear it and you move on to the Wrong Door ending → The Bunker.
What trips people up on Level 55.1
- ▸You photograph the objects you are sent after across the stacked layers, riding the elevator up, down and stop to reach each one.
- ▸Line up your shots while dodging what roams the layers. The Bacteria, a Smiler and a Skin-Stealer all share the space with you.
- ▸Finishing the run plays out the Wrong Door, the first of the five endings: you wake in The Bunker holding the ID Card that opens the other ending routes.
- ▸Mind the elevator timing. Missing your stop while an entity is on you is where runs unravel this late in the game.
Entities on this level
A roaming chaser that drifts the abandoned lobbies and the rundown Level 0. It patrols rather than hunts, but it'll commit once it spots you.
Survive: Watch its patrol and time your moves between the levers or objectives. If it locks on, duck into a side room or vent and wait it out rather than sprinting in a straight line.
Two glowing eyes and a wide grin hanging in the dark. Smilers live in the unlit stretches and rush you if you sit in shadow too long.
Survive: Stay in the light. They won't step into a lit area, so hop between light sources and never stop somewhere dark. If one shows up, back toward the nearest light instead of running blind. A flashlight to the face puts it down on some levels.
A pale, faceless thing that copies other survivors to get close. In co-op it'll wear a teammate's face and voice, so the real danger is trusting the wrong 'friend'.
Survive: Go by how it acts, not how it looks. A Skin-Stealer moves wrong, repeats voice lines, and won't do the stuff a real player does. Keep everyone in sight, call your positions out loud, and don't follow a 'teammate' who's leading you off alone.
