Lights Out

A pitch-black maze where you can't see your own hands. The game hands you a LiDAR scanner that paints dots of light on whatever it hits, and that's the only way through. A blind Wretch patrols the first half.

How to escape Lights Out

Use the scanner to map the walls and feel your way through, generally hugging left. The Wretch is blind and won't touch you if you crouch, and it shows on the LiDAR as a red blip that beeps faster the nearer it gets, so crouch and wait when the beeping speeds up. Find the lit hallway with the white residential door.

Clear it and you move on to Thalassophobia.

What trips people up on Lights Out

  • You genuinely cannot see here, so the LiDAR scanner is your only way through. Sweep it constantly to paint the walls ahead.
  • The Wretch is blind and hunts by sound. It cannot catch you while you crouch, so crouch and wait when the scanner blip beeps faster.
  • Hugging the left wall is the reliable way through the maze. Wandering the middle just gets you lost in the dark.
  • Do not panic-sprint when the beeping speeds up. That is the exact moment to stop and crouch, not run.

Wretchhigh

A blind stalker that patrols the pitch-dark maze of Lights Out and guards houses in the suburbs. It hunts by sound, not sight.

Survive: Crouch and it can't catch you. It shows up as a red blip on your LiDAR scanner that beeps faster the closer it gets, so when the beeps speed up, stop, crouch, and let it pass.
